Why Future Kampung focuses on three core areas

Poverty in Jakarta's kampungs is not a single problem. It involves access to education, vulnerability to flooding, and lack of economic opportunity. We address all three simultaneously because they are inseparably connected. A child who goes to school but comes home to a flooded house has limited benefit from her education. A woman who attends training but has no safe learning environment for her children cannot fully develop.

All projects are carried out by local volunteers and partners who live and work in the kampungs. Your donation does not go to external agencies or overhead, but directly to the people and places that need it most.
