What is an ANBI Foundation and Why Does It Matter for Donors

If you want to donate to a Dutch charity, you will often encounter the term ANBI. ANBI stands for Algemeen Nut Beogende Instelling, which translates to Public Benefit Organisation. It is an official certification granted by the Dutch Tax Authority to foundations and associations that demonstrably serve the public interest.
What does ANBI mean for you as a donor?
An ANBI foundation is required to be transparent about how donations are spent. This means the organisation publishes annually where the money goes, who the board members are, and how the foundation achieves its goals. As a donor, you know exactly what happens with your contribution.
Tax deduction for ANBI donations
One of the biggest advantages of donating to an ANBI foundation is tax deductibility for Dutch taxpayers. Periodic gifts via a private deed are fully deductible without a threshold. This makes donating to Future Kampung especially attractive for Dutch tax residents.
How to verify ANBI status?
You can check this easily via the Dutch Tax Authority website. Search by name or RSIN number. Future Kampung is registered with RSIN 868998934 and KvK number 99251167.
Why does Future Kampung have ANBI certification?
Future Kampung meets all requirements set by the Dutch Tax Authority for ANBI organisations. We publish our policy documents, annual reports and financial overviews annually. Our board consists of volunteers who receive no compensation for their work. All income goes directly to projects in Jakarta.
